Undated-AP) -- The Oklahoma-Texas rivalry is already red hot, so why not throw some gasoline onto that fire?

The Sooners are ranked number two and Texas is number four in The Associated Press preseason rankings.

It guarantees that -- once again -- the teams' October 12th meeting in the Red River Shootout in Dallas comes with serious national championship implications.

And the Big 12 goes deeper than that.

Last season's conference champ, Colorado, checks in at number seven, Nebraska is number ten, and Texas A-and-M is number 23.
