(Oklahoma City-AP) -- The state Supreme Court is refusing to disqualify itself from a case challenging the validity of an anti-cockfighting proposal.

The Oklahoma Gamefowl Breeders Association had asked the court to step aside from the case.

The association is trying to persuade the court to reverse earlier rulings on an initiative petition for a statewide vote on banning cockfighting.

The court has upheld the petition and it's scheduled to be on the ballot in November as State Question 687.
