(Norman-AP) -- A Norman man says his lawsuit alleging deceptive e-mail may be the first filed under a new Oklahoma law.

Robert Braver wants damages from a Florida man who Braver says sent him an e-mail about a moneymaking scheme. Braver says Doug Woodward of Dundee Florida tried to hide the message's origin.

The state law prohibits sending electronic messages with missing or invalid information about the transmission path.

Braver also says mass e-mails known as spam violate the service terms of every Internet provider.
