Oklahoma City-AP) -- The long-delayed state case against bombing conspirator Terry Nichols resumed Tuesday.
It was the first hearing since the Oklahoma Supreme Court resolved a dispute over attorney fees July Second by voiding a government contract with Nichols' attorneys.
District Judge Ray Linder said Tuesday the next step is to negotiate a new contract with the attorneys. The attorneys say the $1.8-million limit on defense fees is hurting their case.
Nichols did not speak during Tuesday's hearing.
He's been in the Oklahoma County Jail for 2 1/2 years awaiting trial on 160 counts of first-degree murder in the April 19th, 1995, bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building.
