Oklahoma City-AP) -- The state Tax Commission says the checks are in the mail.
The agency is sending out about seven-thousand refund checks this week. They represent the balance of Oklahomans who filed their returns by the April 15th deadline and are still owed money by the state.
Tax Commission spokeswoman Paula Ross says the refund process has been a bit slow this year.
Ross says delays occurred because of eight-hundred-80-thousand dollars in budget cuts. They forced the agency to fire the data entry company that was entering tax returns into its system.
The agency also had to release more than two-hundred temporary employees.
The agency processed about one-point-four (m) million returns this year.
