Tulsa is better prepared to handle disaster. The city has won a grant to help support the city in times of crisis.

Tulsa has won awards for its "Project Impact" that encourages people to be ready for severe weather. The new $275,000 grant will support a roster of volunteers who can help the city in times of disaster.

In some cases, volunteers will help fill gaps in emergency services, and specifically help give emergency information to people who don't speak English.
