(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Barry Sanders wants an Oklahoma County judge to reduce his court-ordered child support since he's no longer making millions as a football player.
Sanders says his salary has dropped from six-point-four million to 851-thousand dollars since he retired in 1999.
He's asking a judge to eliminate a seven-thousand-dollar-a-year payment to his son's mother that is used to take trips.
He also wants a small decrease in his fourth-thousand-dollar-a-month child support payment.
Sanders also is asking not to have to buy a new vehicle every three years for Aletha House, the mother of his eight-year-old son.
Sanders' attorney says her client and House get along well in raising the child, but they have significant differences when it comes to financial issues.
The judge will announce his decision next month.
