The Oklahoma Supreme Court has upheld a congressional redistricting plan.
It affirmed a lower court decision imposing this plan drawn by Republican Governor Frank Keating. The map shows District 2 stretching from the Kansas border to the Texas state line. It also absorbs part of what is currently District 3. And District 5 now encompasses what used to be district six in western Oklahoma.
Oklahoma is losing one of its US House seats because it isn't growing as fast as other states.
Democrats fought against Keating’s redistricting plan because they say it favors incumbents too heavily.
