(Washington-AP) -- A condemned Oklahoma killer is asking the US Supreme Court to stay his execution.

David Jay Brown is to be put to death Tuesday for the 1988 murder of his former father-in-law, Eldon Lee McGuire.

Brown's request was filed with the high court today.

The state Pardon and Parole Board had recommended clemency for Brown, but the recommendation was denied earlier this week by Governor Keating.
