Nearly 300 Oklahoma high school students are exercising their creativity this week at the annual Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain.

Several Tulsa area teens are among the students studying dance, theatre, music, art, photography, and creative writing. More than a thousand students audition for the institute, taught by nationally known artists.

All students receive a full scholarship funded by the Oklahoma State Department of Education and private donors. The experience has come to be called "Quartz Magic" by many students, who say they made great strides in both their artistic and personal growth at the institute.
