A new summer camp is hoping to fight diabetes in Native American children.

Studies show Native Americans are nearly three times more likely to develop type II diabetes than whites. The Indian Health Care Resource Center's "Wellness Adventures" camp in Tulsa tries to make learning about health and fitness fun. And while it might look like fun and games, the camp hopes to deliver a serious message.

Camp director Carrie Taylor, "Our big thing that we're trying to achieve is wellness - prevention of diabetes, getting kids to understand how to eat well and that exercise is really important."

The camp is offering two, two-week sessions this summer.
