(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A study co-sponsored by the University of Oklahoma's psychiatry department finds four in five Americans would give up some freedoms for security.

The study also finds four in ten worry terrorists will harm them or their family.

The telephone survey was funded through a grant from the Oklahoma City National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism.

The poll also finds about one-third of people favor making it easier for authorities to review e-mail and telephone conversations. More than three-fourths think all Americans should have smallpox vaccinations.

The survey polled more than 900 people across the country and also compared the anxiety level of respondents in New York City, Washington D-C and Oklahoma City to the rest of the nation.
