IRVING, Texas (AP) _ Woody Dantzler, a dazzling college quarterback at Clemson who is moving to running back to try making the NFL, was among 12 undrafted free agents signed by the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday.

Dallas also re-signed two players, tight end Mike Lucky, who was a restricted free agent, and receiver Randal Williams, an exclusive rights free agent.

All 14 signees will take part in a minicamp that begins Friday.

Dantzler passed for 2,360 yards and 17 touchdowns and ran for 1,004 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior, but at 5-foot-10 and 209 pounds he didn't project as an NFL quarterback.

His speed and moves are best suited at running back, but his inexperience there probably prevented him from being drafted.

Another notable running back signee is Ennis Haywood, a Dallas native who starred at Iowa State.

Several other additions have Texas ties, including UT defensive tackle Maurice Gordon, tackle Joey Slaten from SMU and safety Keith Davis of Sam Houston State.

The Cowboys also brought in competition on special teams by signing punter Filip Filipovic, a Yugoslavia native who played at South Dakota, and kicker Billy Cundiff from Drake.

The other signees are cornerback Dashawn Abram of Wyoming, linebacker Khary Campbell of Bowling Green, quarterback Sam Clemons of Western Illinois, defensive end Kevin DeRonde of Iowa State and running back Josh Ranek of South Dakota State.
