A civil suit has been filed in Tulsa County District Court "against" a teenager allegedly raped inside a Tulsa High School locker room last fall.
A 14-year old Webster High School football player claimed he was assaulted with a broomstick and sexually abused by teammates inside the boy’s locker room.
14 students were suspended. Five were later charged with rape. Now, a civil suit claims the alleged victim provided a false police report against the suspects. Plaintiff’s attorney, Wayne Copeland, "In school has been chastised, fellow students have been slandered, called names by other schools systems and these parents want vindication and they also want justice."
The families of the accused teens are suing the alleged rape victim for malicious prosecution, slander and libel. The civil suit is separate from the criminal case, and will likely go to court in the fall.
