A Broken Arrow Middle School student remains in custody today. The 8th grade girl was arrested after police say she pulled a loaded gun on an officer when she ran away from school.
The unidentified girl was a student at Central Middle School. Officials say on Monday, she walked out the door after being sent to the office for disrupting class.
Police and a principal caught up with her a couple of blocks away - but they had to back off. Broken Arrow Police officer, Lt Kevin Marks, "She reaches into her pocket and pulls out what was later indentified as a 25 caliber pistol and pointed it at the officer and the administrator." More officers were called to a parking lot at Kenosha and Cedar, where they say they cornered the girl and got the weapon.
She faces charges for pointing the gun and possesion of marijuana. Police are still trying to figure out how she got ahold of the weapon.
