An investigation is underway into a house fire late Thursday night that chased a family from their home. Tulsa firefighters were called to the home, near 99th and Sheridan, shortly before midnight.
A family had just returned home and smelled smoke, so they called for help. Tulsa Fire Captain Bob Stern says "fire crews made a good initial attack and got a pretty quick knock down, but it obviously had been smoldering for probably several hours. The home has some heavy smoke damage, heat damage throughout the entire house."
The family did get out of the house safely. Damage is estimated at $135,000.
