STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma State scored eight unanswered runs to beat Baylor 15-5 Sunday afternoon.
The Cowboys (34-15, 13-11 Big 12) had an 11-5 lead in the seventh inning when Matt Oakes hit a grand slam to left field to end the game because of the mercy rule.
Paul Powell's three-run homer gave Oklahoma State a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Nebasett Brown hit a two-run double in the second inning to raise the score to 5-0.
Solo home runs by Chris Durbin and Ron Zboril in the fourth inning cut the Cowboys' lead to 5-2.
Oklahoma State got two more runs in the bottom of the fourth on Jimbo McAuliff's RBI-single and an RBI-groundout by Brown.
The Bears (33-17, 16-8 Big 12) got three runs on a pair of hits to make the score 7-5, but freshman pitcher Joe Weaver (6-0) held Baylor in check over the final three innings.
The grand slam rounded out scoring.
Weaver (6-0) allowed only one hit and no runs for Oklahoma State.
Kyle Edens (2-1) allowed three hits and five runs in two innings in taking the loss for Baylor.
