(Duluth-AP) -- Top-seeded Andre Agassi is already out of the Verizon Tennis Challenge at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Duluth.

Agassi was knocked off this afternoon in a first round match against Nicolas Thomann of France. Thomann posted a straight-set 6-4, 7-5 victory in a match that had been scheduled for yesterday, but was rained out.

In another first-round match played today Andy Roddick of the U-S beat Raemon Sluiter of Netherlands 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.

Fourth-seeded Rainer Schuettler of Germany was eliminated in the second round by Belgium's Xavier Malisse 6-1, 6-1 and fifth-seeded Andrew Ilie of Australia beat Jens Knippschild of Germany 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 in another second-round match.
