(Norman-AP) -- Oklahoma linebacker Rocky Calmus is on the watch list for the 2001 Bronko Nagurski Trophy.

Calmus was an All-American last year and helped lead the Sooners to the football national championship.

The Nagurski award is annually given to the nation's top defensive college player.

The Charlotte Touchdown Club and the Football Writers Association of America pick a player of the week during the college football season.

In November, five finalists will be selected and the trophy will be presented in December.
