STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Josh Merrigan gave up five hits in 7 2/3 innings and Oklahoma State got three hits from Paul Powell and Jose Virgil in an 11-5 victory over Kansas State on Friday night.
Merrigan (5-4) struck out eight, walked three and allowed just two earned runs.
Powell hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning, when the Cowboys (25-10, 9-7 Big 12) scored four times to secure the victory.
Oklahoma State scored twice in the fourth and fifth innings to take a 5-1 lead against Luke Robertson (4-5).
J.D. Loudabarger had a two-run single in a three-run eighth inning that got Kansas State (11-19, 3-13) within 7-5. But then the Cowboys came through in the bottom of the inning.
