(Okmulgee-AP) -- An Okmulgee woman is hospitalized in critical condition in Tulsa after being shot by her husband, who then committed suicide.

Okmulgee police say the 46-year-old woman was shot in the head yesterday and found lying near the front door of her home. Her husband was found dead at the scene and a pistol was found nearby.

Police Chief Ed Humphreys says two boys between 7- and 8-years old were inside the home at the time of the shootings. Humphreys says the boys ran to a neighbor's home for help.

The names of the man and woman have not been released.
