OKLAHOMA CITY - General Motors is canceling two weeks of a scheduled shut-down at its assembly plant in Oklahoma City.
Plant spokeswoman Kathy Oden said production of the Chevrolet Malibu at the plant is on again for the weeks of April 2 and April 30. Those two weeks were recently added to the plant's scheduled down time.
The plant will now be closed for six weeks, not eight weeks as originally planned.
GM began temporary shut-downs of plants across the country on Jan. 22 as the automaker sought to reduce its inventory of unsold vehicles.
About 3,000 people are employed at the Oklahoma City plant.
