Both Republicans and Democrats are stepping up the pressure on the Federal Reserve to lower interest rates. This comes after a week of turmoil on the stock market. The Dow Jones industrial average lost more than 8-hundred points last week. Analysts are suggesting a rate of one-half percent. Republican Senator Don Nickles of Oklahoma would like to see the feds cut rates three-quarters of a percent.
