SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Levi Strauss & Co. has recalled 13 styles of infant and toddler garments because of potentially faulty metal inseam snaps that could pose a choking risk for young children.

The recalled garments include 12- to 24-month Infant Metal Inseam Snap Jeans and 12- to 24-month and 2T to 4T Koveralls and Shortalls with metal inseam snaps, the company said Wednesday.

Two consumers have reported separation problems with the metal snaps. No injuries have been reported, according to Levi's officials.

Both reports involved the same product, but the company said it voluntarily issued the recall of all 13 boys' and girls' Levi's garments that use the metal snaps as a precaution.

The products recalled Tuesday include two styles of snap jeans, seven styles of Koveralls, and four styles of Shortalls. The garments were manufactured from February 1999 to March 2001. Almost 350,000 of the items have been shipped to retail stores since March 1999.

Consumers who have any of the garments should take the item away from children and contact San Francisco-based Levi Strauss and Co. at 1-800-USA-LEVI for information on returning the garment for a full refund.
