(Henryetta, Oklahoma-AP) -- News that the Dallas Cowboys had waived Troy Aikman shocked Henryetta, the eastern Oklahoma town where he grew up.

Henryetta High School football coach Kenny Speer played with Aikman in junior high. His program has been the recipient of thousands of dollars in equipment donated by the longtime Cowboy quarterback.

In Speer's words -- ``It is a little like getting scored on in the last 30 seconds and losing the game.''

Henryetta resident Donna Carley says she wasn't surprised by the move, saying Aikman's history of back miseries and concussions warranted it.

But hairdresser Linda Dudley says her mother won't watch the Cowboys anymore.
