Brothers jailed after car lot altercation

(Claremore-AP) -- Prosecutors in Rogers County say two brothers face numerous charges after they tried to take a vehicle that had been repossessed from the girlfriend of one.

Sheriff's deputies say they arrested John and Edward Ellis south of Claremore after the incident at a Claremore area car lot.

John Ellis faces firearms complaints, possession of marijuana and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon. Edward Ellis has an outstanding warrant in Wagoner County on a child molestation charge.

Deputy Rick Archer says the two told a car lot employee they were taking the car and when one went to get the auto the employee got a gun and fired a shot into the air.

John Ellis then allegedly got a handgun, threatened to kill the employee and the brothers left firing shots into the air.
