TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities believe the main suspect in the shooting death of a Tulsa woman also may have beaten of an elderly Wyoming man last year.

A tip led officers on Wednesday to a northeast Oklahoma City house, where they found 23-year-old Eric Laron Cooks hiding under a mattress.

Cooks was wanted for the Oct. 4 shooting death of 21-year-old Atlanta Jacobs, who was holding her infant son in the back seat of a car when she was shot.

Officers have been fielding tips since Cooks appeared on the television program "America's Most Wanted" and most recently tracked him to Houston.

Police now believe Cooks may have gone to Cheyenne, Wyo., soon after Jacobs' death. H was driving the car of the Wyoming beating victim, police said.

A man matching Cooks' description knocked on the elderly man's door Nov. 21 and asked to enter, said Lt. Scott Cannon of the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office.

"He told him he was a transient and wanted a cup of water,"

Cannon said. "The guy let him in, and (the attacker) took his keys, took his car and $60 out of his wallet."

The man was beaten with a claw hammer. Authorities say his injuries were serious but not life-threatening.

Oklahoma City officers are trying to get a search warrant for the car to look for evidence of the crime, Cannon said.

Cooks is charged with first-degree murder in Tulsa County. Two other suspects who were in the car that followed the Jacobs family that night have identified Cooks as the shooter, officials have said.

Lawrence Londale Harris has said he was driving, police said.

Clarence Levell Allen was a front-seat passenger. First-degree murder charges were dismissed without prejudice against the men, but the charges could be refiled in the future, the Tulsa County District Attorney's Office said.

Mrs. Jacobs' family wants to see a trial for all three suspects.

The night of the shooting, Jacobs' husband, Milton Jacobs, was playing a pick-up basketball game at the Broken Arrow Community Center when a fight broke out.

Mrs. Jacobs begged her husband to leave. The family had gotten just a few miles away when a car came up behind them at an intersection and she was shot.

"Once we go to trial, I hope he gets his due for taking my wife and a mother away from her son," said Milton Jacobs. "I think they all should."
