(Oklahoma City-AP) -- How bad off is the Social Security trust fund? Oklahomans are getting the word straight from Social Security official Horace L- Dickerson Junior.
Dickerson is in Oklahoma this week visiting with residents about social security issues.
He spoke yesterday with American Indian leaders in Bethany.
Dickerson says the best estimates have the country's social security money being gone in 36 years if something isn't done.
He says saving social security will be a top issue for the Bush administration.
Bush has proposed allowing citizens to put a portion of their social security money in the stock market or other private ventures.
