(Jay-AP) -- A computer virus is causing headaches for Delaware County's incoming sheriff.
Lenden Woodruff says the day he was sworn in as sheriff, the virus destroyed the files stored on the main computer and laptop.
The files contained the county's warrant list, evidence room inventory and equipment inventory list for the sheriff's office.
A computer technician isolated the virus immediately and tried to retrieve the backup system from the mainframe of the computer.
But when the virus was stopped, no files were found.
Woodruff says he's had to re-create the records through a document search by the court clerk's office.
Woodruff says he doesn't blame the previous administration, but he's suspicious of the timing surrounding the computer glitch.
