SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Syracuse center Billy Celuck has been reinstated by the university and will rejoin the men's basketball team.
Celuck, a senior with one more year of eligibility, was declared academically ineligible Jan. 5 and missed Syracuse games at Pittsburgh and Rutgers. A faculty academic committee reviewed his appeal on Thursday. Celuck was informed of his reinstatement on Friday morning.
``I'm pleased with the way my appeal turned out and excited about being back in school and with my teammates,'' said Celuck, in his first year as a starter. ``I appreciate all the support I've received in the past week.''
