Richt Hires Two More Assistants

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) â€” Georgia coach Mark Richt hired two more assistants Saturday, picking Brian VanGorder as defensive coordinator/linebackers coach and John Eason as wide receivers coach.

VanGorder joins the Bulldogs after spending one year as defensive coordinator at Western Illinois. A former head coach at Wayne, Mich., he served as defensive coordinator at Central Michigan from 1998-99.

Eason was the offensive coordinator and associate head coach of the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL. He worked with Richt at Florida State, coaching the wide receivers from 1986-94.

Richt previously announced he was retaining defensive coach and recruiting coordinator Rodney Garner from Jim Donnan's staff.
