(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A Senate Republican and right-to-work proponent has warned his fellow G-O-P lawmakers for leaving the issue out of the party's agenda.

Senator Mike Fair says their decision will cost them votes.

Fair is president of Oklahomans for Right to Work. He criticized G-O-P leaders today for not pursuing legislation that would allow employees to work in a union workplace without having to pay union dues.

Fair wants Republicans to push for a statewide vote on right to work. He says the party's decision this week to skirt the issue could be perilous to Republicans.

Republicans gained eight new House members in 2000.
