(Ada-AP) -- An 82-year-old Ada man who suffers from Alzheimer's is now hospitalized in fair condition after surviving an 18-hour ordeal in sub-freezing temperatures.

Joseph Marsee apparently went looking for his wife Monday afternoon and wrecked his pickup truck on an icy Ada city street.

He would spend the next 18-hours confused and in temperatures that fell as low as 16 degrees.

Marsee was found about eight yesterday morning standing near the back of the pickup by two men driving on the residential street.

A spokesman for Valley View Regional Hospital says Marsee suffered three broken vertebrae and two broken ribs, but is recovering.
