(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Inc. Magazine says Oklahoma City is one of the 50 best large metropolitan areas to start a new business.
A state legislative leader says the ranking proves the Legislature's economic development efforts have been right on target.
Oklahoma City ranks 38th in the magazine's listing, ahead of New York City, New Orleans and Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Former state House Speaker Loyd Benson says lawmakers should be proud of the city's ranking.
The Democrat from Frederick says the quality of the state's work force, its low cost of living and tax incentives developed by the Legislature make Oklahoma attractive to new businesses.
