(Fayetteville-AP) -- The city of Fayetteville wants the University of Arkansas to pay police officers working to control football crowds.

The city isn't including football overtime pay in its 2001 budget.

The university has never been asked to pay game day officers.

But City Aldermen and Assistant Police Chief Rick Hoyt say the timing is right to approach U-A- overtime because Razorback Stadium will seat 72-thousand fans next season when its expansion is complete.

There are also five games in Fayetteville next year, meaning one more game day that Fayetteville police officers have to work overtime.
