NEW YORK (AP) — New parents Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld may already be thinking about their daughter's education.
The comedian and his wife were co-chairmen of a benefit Tuesday for PENCIL, a group dedicated to improving public schools. The event, sponsored by Arista Records, featured performances by Kenny G and Babyface.
``This is my way of helping New York City. I think the public school system is like the lungs of the city,'' Jerry Seinfeld said. ``It's just important that it be vital and strong, and keep up with the public schools.''
When asked if his newborn daughter, Sascha, would attend public schools, Seinfeld said: ``Well, she's a little young, so we don't know.''
Sascha was born last month. Seinfeld joked that she is already advanced.
``I did not expect her to be doing beadwork,'' he said. ``Those little hands are amazing.''
