(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Nathalene Carson of Apache says she's been praying for some relief ever since she lost her trailer home last month in a flash flood.

Those prayers may have been answered. President Clinton has signed a major disaster declaration for counties devastated by flooding.

The declaration makes federal aid available to Caddo and Grady counties. The local governments of Caddo, Carter, Comanche, Cotton, Grady, Jefferson, Kiowa, McClain and Tillman are also eligible for assistance.

Local officials will hold a meeting Thursday at seven P-M in Apache's Church of Christ. Federal and state officials are expected to attend to answer any questions.

Roy Young is a Church of Christ minister who has led relief efforts in Apache. Young says people are excited about the relief and that it should help flood victims.
