(Tulsa-AP) -- Two 19-year-olds won't be charged with kidnapping after admitting they stole a car but didn't know two children were inside.
Joe Phelps of Afton and Bonnie Grubbs of Tulsa each pleaded guilty today to one count of larceny of an auto and two counts of child endangerment.
They are scheduled to be sentenced in January. Prosecutors dismissed two counts of kidnapping against each of them as part of plea negotiations.
Attorneys for both Grubbs and Phelps say the two never intended to kidnap the children.
Six-month-old Demetri Collette and his 19-month-old sister Monique, were inside their family's car when it was stolen from a Tulsa gas station on September 12th.
The two were found unharmed in the vehicle almost 12 hours later on a remote road in Ottawa County.
