Democrats try to figure out what happened

(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Democrats in Oklahoma saw their Legislative majority shrink last Tuesday to the lowest point in eight decades.

There are now 53 Democrats in the House and 48 Republicans.

In the Senate, 30 of the 48 seats are held by Democrats.

Many are blaming the loss of eight state House and three Senate seats on G-O-P candidates riding the coattails of the popularity of Republican presidential candidate George W. Bush.

Other reasons being given include younger, more aggressive Republican candidates, and the state Health Department scandal.

Republican Governor Keating calls the scandal an enormous help to the G-O-P.
