(Mamakating-AP) -- Another new player has stepped up to the table in the state's game of casino roulette.

Developer David Flaum tells the Middletown Times Herald-Record that he's working with a Cayuga tribe in Oklahoma on a plan for a casino at a former lodge atop the Shawangunk Ridge in Sullivan County.

Flaum plans to meet with county officials today to discuss the proposal.

The area Flaum is targeting has been the focal point of several proposals for casinos that combine worldwide gaming operators with American Indian tribes.

Members of the Cayuga and Mohawk nations have expressed interest in a casino in the Catskills. The Oneida Indian Nation already operates Turning Stone casino in Verona, near Utica.

The New York Cayugas have teamed with a developer to propose a casino at Monticello Raceway and Park Place Entertainment is paired with the St. Regis Mohawks to try to build a casino at a Catskills Resort.
