(Miami, Oklahoma-AP) -- Ottawa County officials issued a first-degree murder warrant today for a Wyandotte man in the death of his girlfriend's one-year-old daughter.
Twenty-two-year-old Jason Robbins already was in a Missouri jail on a child abuse complaint. He was taken into custody on Friday at a Joplin hospital.
Yesterday, the child died from head injuries. Her name wasn't released.
Robbins is being held in the Jasper County jail in Carthage, Missouri, on a fugitive from justice warrant and bail was set at 101-thousand dollars.
Ottawa County authorities said Wyandotte firefighters were called to the child's home Friday morning. She was flown to a Joplin hospital and then to one in Springfield.
Robbins told authorities the toddler fell off a couch and hit her head. But authorities said the child's injuries weren't consistent with a fall.
