(Stilwell-AP) -- Adair County authorities are investigating the shooting death of a 26-year-old man found dead over the weekend on the bathroom floor in his home.

Sheriff Charles Hartshorne says Steven Hughes was dead when deputies arrived at his home Sunday night.

An autopsy showed he died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Hughes was awaiting trial in Delaware County for multiple drug charges in connection with a pursuit and arrest by county authorities. Officials say he was out of jail on bail when he was killed.

The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation has been called in to handle the case.

An O-S-B-I spokeswoman says no suspects are in custody.
