(Dallas-AP) -- Oklahoma senior defensive back J.T. Thatcher has been named as one of the S-B-C Big 12 Conference Football Players of the Week.

Thatcher was selected as Special Teams Player of the Week. He had five punt returns for 160 yards, including a 66-yarder which he ran back for a touchdown in the Sooners' 45-to-7 win over Arkansas State.

Thatcher's 160 yards broke the school single game record set last year by Jarrail Jackson against Missouri. Jackson got 146 years on six returns in that game.

Texas junior quarterback Major Applewhite and Nebraska senior middle linebacker Carlos Polk were also named as S-B-C Big 12 Conference Football Players of the Week.
