(Sapulpa-AP) -- Sapulpa city officials are looking for ways to use a former reservoir that went dry because of a leak at the lake's south end.

Robert Petitt is the city's water treatment superintendent.

Petitt says water began flowing out of Country Club Lake August 26th when a layer in a cliff at the south end of the dike gave way.

Petitt says city officials are considering dredging the exposed lake bed and possibly rebuilding the lake's intake structure. He says the city could eventually re-establish the lake as a drinking water supply and a recreational facility.

No timetable has been set for any work at the lake.
