(Muskogee-AP) -- A woman charged in the death of her 19-month-old son has been ordered to stay in jail at least until she gives birth to her fifth child. Twenty-one-year-old La Dawn Denise Jackson is charged with failing to seek medical attention for Darwin Arvel Jackson. Darwin died June 21st at a Muskogee hospital

The toddler was taken to the hospital after emergency crews were called to the Jackson home and found the child unconscious. A court affidavit indicates that the child had numerous injuries, including cuts on his wrists and ankles, a knot on his head and a swollen nose. Jackson is now eight months pregnant and authorities wanted to be sure the child would be in a safe environment. Jackson's other three children are in foster care.
