Prosecutors seeking grand jury review of road work

(Miami-AP) -- Ottawa County prosecutors have requested a grand jury review of construction on a stretch of road between U-S Highway 69 and the Will Rogers Turnpike. A section of Industrial Access Road has a portion about the length of a pickup truck that is crumbling. Assistant DistrictAttorney Fred DeMier says other sections appear cracked and crumbled along a two-mile stretch.

DeMier says the road doesn't belong to the county but the county has made repeated repairs because of safety concerns. Construction of the road was completed 18 months ago. But the county never took ownership of the road from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation because commissioner don't believe the work is acceptable.
