(Sacramento, California-AP) -- Former Oklahoma State track and field standout Chuck Sloan has failed by five seconds to make the U-S Olympic team.

Sloan came in ninth in yesterday's three-thousand-meter steeplechase final at the U-S Olympic trials in California. Sloan completed the race in 8:26.66. Trials champion Pascal Dobert finished in 8:15.77.
