(Pawhuska-AP) -- A candidate in the District Two county commissioner race in Osage County was stricken from the ballot Monday because he didn't switch parties soon enough. The Osage County Election Board then told Horace Paslay he couldn't switch back to the Democratic Party to vote for his son in the primary election.

Paslay switched to the Republican Party to run against incumbent Scott Hilton. He failed to switch the minimum of at least six months before the filing date. Kevin Paslay will face Hilton in the primary election. Horace Paslay says he'll file again as a Republican in four years unless his son wins. He was defeated as a Democrat by Hilton in the last election.
