TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) -- Northeastern State coach Kevin Riggs is leaving at the end of the summer for a private business venture. Athletic director Eddie Griffin announced Riggs' resignation Thursday.

Riggs has been the coach since 1987 and has won more baseball games than any other coach in school history. He averaged more than 30 wins a year over his 13 seasons and has three conference titles.

"The university really took a chance on a 25-year-old, but I believe the program is in better shape than it was when I got here," Riggs said.
