STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma State has named Tanya Ray as an assistant basketball coach. Ray, an assistant at Blinn College and native of Brenham, Texas, replaces Paula Ross.

Ross resigned to pursue other coaching interests, the university said Monday. Ray's appointment must be approved by the university's board of regents.

"She is an obvious match with the direction we want our program to go," said coach Dick Halterman. Her primary duties last year included recruiting, academic advisement and on-the-floor coaching. Ray finished her collegiate career at St. Mary's in San Antonio.
